ILS - Direct Support Profesional

Job Description:

We are currently seeking professional and compassionate individuals to work as “direct support staff/life skills trainers” in our Independent Living Services Program. The Independent Living Services Program provides 1:1 support and training to clients living independently in the community in their own homes. We offer competitive compensation (hourly wage rate varies based on assignment), and full benefits to employees who work 30+ hours: medical, vacation and sick leave, accidental death and disability, life insurance

Job Duties for “direct support staff/life skills trainer” in the Independent Living Services Program include:
–Community-based individual skill instruction and hands-on assistance with daily life activities
–Case management

  • Flexibility -As we provide individualized supports for people based on their needs, shifts will vary in length and time so an ability to be flexible in this sector is also a must. Shifts may also vary from one-to-one support in the community, supporting people in their own homes and working in a residential or community access setting.
  • Multitasking – Be able to wear more than one hat i.e Buddy, cheerleader, teacher, cook, secretary, gaming pal, champion, coach, student, sidekick, guide, assistant, advocate…

Program Assistant - Adult Day Services
Job Description:

We are currently seeking professional and compassionate individuals for the position of “Program Assistant” in our Adult Development and Activity Center.

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, Program Assistants in the Adult Development and Activity Center Day Program help to design, lead and implement facility-based and community-based activities that are tailored to the needs, strengths, interests and preferences of consumers in order to develop consumers’ functional skills, enrich their lives through community integration and self-advocacy, further their independence through the development of employment and self-care skills, as well as provide structured opportunities for creative expression and enjoyment.

Assigned activities may include job coaching paid work sites, directing volunteer work at non-profit organizations; supporting development of independent living skills through activities such as using the computer and Internet; public transit, cooking and nutrition, growing vegetables; fulfilling needs for creative expression through activities such as music, dance, art, crafts, and photography; leading social recreational activities such as physical fitness, golf, swimming and bowling; and orienting consumers in how to access community resources such as the library, parks and recreation centers.

9:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday (Full Time)

Compensation: $18.25/hour + Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Long Term Disability Insurance

SLS Personal Assistant
Job Description:

We are currently seeking professional and compassionate individuals for the position of “Personal Assistant” in our Supported Living Program.

Responsibilities: 

Under the direction of the SLS Program Coordinator, Personal Assistants in the Supported Living Services Program provide services directly to consumers in their own homes, with goals and levels of support determined jointly by consumers and their circles of support (friends, family members, partners). Supported living services provided by the Program Assistant range from minimal assistance to 24-hour care, depending on the type and severity of the individual’s disability. These services are provided for persons with any level of ability/disability.
