On Saturday, April 26, Greater Opportunities celebrated National Rebuilding Day at our Semi-Independent Living Program in Sunnyvale. Rebuilding Together Peninsula brought us a wonderfully generous contribution of building materials and skilled labor from the nice folks at SummerHill Homes. Over the course of several weeks, the six unit apartment complex was repaired and upgraded, with a new fence and concrete patio, creation of a classroom unit with a remodeled kitchen, and landscaping improvements. Consumers, staff and Board members joined with SummerHill volunteers on the final day, working as a team with proud smiles and good cheer. The facilities look terrific, and we are so thankful to Rebuilding Together Peninsula and SummerHill Homes!
